Colorado Citizens’ Climate Lobby volunteers Susan Campbell and Bob Blackburn are the featured speakers for the May 13th, Chaffee County League of Women Voters. The meeting will begin with an 11:15 am social and business followed by the speakers’ presentations from 12 to 1 pm. The speakers will provide information about the climate and environmental bills that passed the 2024 Colorado Legislative Session which concludes on May 8. These bills are in the areas of agricultural tax credits, water quality, electric vehicle charging permitting reform, energy and carbon management regulation, wildfire mitigation and more. Susan Campbell is involved in climate policy and advocacy and serves as co-chair of the Colorado Citizens’ Climate Lobby State Legislative Committee. She also engages in project work on ecological systems and habitat restoration with Wildlands Restoration Volunteers. Bob Blackburn, a retired contractor and IT manager, co-chairs the Colorado Citizens’ Climate Lobby Legislative team. “This will be a highly informative session pertinent to many of the climate and agricultural issues facing our county,” said League program organizer Bonnie Davis. She added, “The general public is welcome to attend and learn about the latest updates in this fast-changing area."
