LWV Chaffee County: In 2020, the median age in Chaffee County was reported as 49.3 years--up from 41.8 years in 2000—and indicating an increasing population of those 65 years and older.
On Monday, October 9th. The LWV of Chaffee County will host a panel discussion exploring what services are available to this growing population. Members of the panel will include Molly Bischoff, LNHA, Chaffee County Public Health Department Aging Well coordinator; Tom McConaghy, Upper Arkansas Area Council of Governments director; Aubrey Tamietti, Arkansas Valley Helping Hands program coordinator; and task force leaders for Places to Age, a grass roots nonprofit focused on bringing assisted living and memory care to Chaffee County. The monthly social and meeting will be held at the Poncha Springs Town Hall at 11:15 a.m. and the panel from 12:00-1:00 p.m.
