Holman Park on the corner of US Hwy 50
The LWV of the United States is partnering with Indivisible and other groups to celebrate Good Trouble Lives On inspired by the late Congressman, John Lewis, who said, "Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America." Here are the details from our local LWVCC member, Arden Trewartha, (719) 239-1200, who is the Indivisible liaison for this event. Good morning: I hope this finds you well. I am volunteering with Arkansas Valley Indivisible and am working with a group organizing a gathering for Good Trouble Lives On Day, July 17th, John Lewis‘s birthday. The gathering will be between 5 or 5:30 pm to incorporate people who work during the day. The focus of Good Trouble is to focus on the attacks on civil and voting rights, and what is at risk. The National League of Women Voters is one of the supporters of this day. Arkansas Valley Indivisible is hoping to have a reflective moment in Holman Park on the corner of US Hwy 50 in Salida and have people line the sidewalks of US 50 with signs. Our other local liaison is member Carol Merovka. You can contact either of them for more info or to let them know you are interested in participating. Since this is a LWV sanctioned event, you can wear your LWV t-shirts, march together and get signs from Barb Brady. There is a minor glitch when you click the email, so just hit ALLOW. Am working on getting that fixed. Thank you!
